The physical production layer for agentic commerce.
Agent Rail gives software a structured path across specification, quoting, approval, settlement, production submission, status, and shipment.
Product overview
The core system translates software intent into production-safe specifications. It validates required fields, maps products and finishes to manufacturing rules, returns system-priced quotes, records approvals, routes orders, and normalizes status.
- 01
Specification
Product, dimensions, stock, finish, artwork, turnaround, and ship-to are validated into a production-safe model.
- 02
Quote
Pricing logic returns a deterministic quote in CAD, then converts to the requested settlement unit.
- 03
Approval
Buyer confirms the quote. Exception rules route custom, high-value, or risky jobs to human review.
- 04
Settlement
A payment request is generated with a memo-matched order id. The payer wallet authorizes the transfer.
- 05
Production
The order maps to a product code and POSTs to the production API; status events flow back.
Structured production ontology
A valid spec is the foundation of every downstream step. Missing or incompatible fields fail fast instead of becoming production errors.
| Field | Rule |
|---|---|
| Product family | Mapped to a validated product line. |
| Finished dimensions | Width, height, depth, and tolerances. |
| Quantity | Integer unit count. |
| Material / stock | Substrate, weight, color, and grade. |
| Print process | Offset, digital, wide-format, dye-sub, etc. |
| Color | Color mode and profile requirements. |
| Finishes | Matte, gloss, soft-touch, foil, emboss, spot UV, etc. |
| Artwork files | URL, SHA-256, type, bleed/safe rules. |
| Turnaround | Standard, expedited, rush. |
| Ship-to destination | Address, postal code, country, service level. |
| Compliance fields | Customs value, hazardous materials, postal rules. |
| Exception flags | New SKU, oversized, manual preflight required. |
Deterministic quoting
Prices come from configured production-pricing and spot-rate sources, not from a language model. The quote is bound to a validated spec, carries an expiry, and is always returned in integer minor units.
Agent rule
Artwork and preflight controls
Artwork URLs, SHA-256 digests, and file types are validated at intake. Unsupported resolutions, missing bleeds, or mismatched color modes trigger an assisted path.
Payment and settlement
Orders are priced in CAD and converted to a settlement amount. USDC on Solana is the baseline integration. Card, invoice, and bank-transfer settlement are evaluated for enterprise pilots.
Order lifecycle
Submitted
Specification and artwork received and validated.
Quoted
System returns a deterministic, non-invented price.
Approved
Buyer approves and payment settles against the request.
In production
Job routed to the appropriate production workflow.
Shipped
Tracking and delivery confirmation returned to the caller.
Production routing and exception handling
The system handles three paths. The exception model makes assisted review explicit, rather than implying fully autonomous production.
Clean path
Specification validates and the order follows the automated workflow.
Assisted path
Artwork, engineering, compliance, capacity, or commercial rules require named human review.
Rejected path
The system returns structured failure reasons and next actions.
Security and approval controls
- Zod validation at every trust boundary
- API-key auth with per-IP rate limiting
- Bigint money in integer minor units only
- Webhook signature verification hooks
- Secret separation between web tier and treasury worker
- Audit logs and structured error responses
Current product status
| Feature | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Catalog endpoint | PILOT | Public catalog returns configured product lines and the POD price list. |
| Quote endpoint | PILOT | Real-time quote validates the spec and returns a priced response; production pricing config is deployment-gated. |
| CAD pricing source | DEMO | Production CAD pricing client is used only when ADVERTEK_PRICING_API_URL is set; otherwise falls back to inspection mocks. |
| CAD-to-USDC spot-rate source | DEMO | Live spot-rate client is used only when SPOT_RATE_API_URL is set; otherwise returns a fixed inspection value. |
| MCP endpoint | PILOT | MCP-over-HTTP endpoint is available behind API-key auth; underlying pricing follows deployment config. |
| create_order tool | PILOT | Order intake validates, prices, persists, and mints a payable request; production submission is gated by config. |
| Payment request generation | PILOT | USDC settlement instructions are computed server-side; the wallet controls the transfer. |
| Solana transfer confirmation | DEMO | Confirmation polling and memo parsing are implemented; mainnet end-to-end verification is pending. |
| QuickNode webhook verification | PLANNED | Webhook handler is stubbed; signature verification and production stream are not yet verified. |
| Order persistence | PILOT | Orders and status events are stored in the configured Postgres backend. |
| Advertek production API submission | PILOT | Fulfillment order builder maps product lines and POSTs to the production API when credentials are configured. |
| Production status webhooks | PILOT | Advertek status mapping and outbound webhooks are implemented; production event stream is pilot-gated. |
| Treasury sweep | PLANNED | Sweep worker is available for deployment but not wired into the public web tier. |
| OKX conversion and reconciliation | PLANNED | OKX deposit, conversion, and fiat allocation logic is implemented in the treasury worker; not production-verified. |
Roadmap
Verify catalog, specification, quote, and demo flows.
Complete a controlled end-to-end pilot with human exception review.
Add repeat ordering, webhooks, enterprise controls, and measured service levels.
Add qualified production endpoints after repeat demand and routing data exist.
